The Formation Records Group is a timeless landmark in British breakbeat music with a reputation throughout the scene as one of the most respected and longest standing labels to date.
Formation was founded in 1990 by DJ SS (Leroy) and his partner Eidris and has been the home of many artists throughout the years including: Bass Ballistics, Bizzi, Brainstorm Crew, DJ Ratty, DJ SS, EQ, Grasscutter, Greenlaw, Influx Datum, Influx UK, International Rude Boyz, John B, Jumping Jack Frost, Mastersafe, Medicine, Megadrive Crew, Mental Power, Mutated Forms, Nero, Oaysis, Tango, Twisted Individual and Generation Dub.
Supporting the Leicester music scene from its origins as the cities first established dance music promoter. Over the last 2 decades, under many different guises, Formation have been smashing apart the local club scene be it Total Kaos, FormFinesse, FormFest, Glitch or Club Formation, the label has brought some of the scenes biggest names to represent on Leicester’s streets.
